Garrett and Kiley took to the lake for their one year wedding anniversary photography! Their anniversary session took place at Okmulgee Lake, also known as the Dripping Springs State Park in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Located just about an hour outside of Tulsa, I was thrilled to go back here for the second time for a gorgeous shoot! Garrett and Kiley got married on May 18, 2019 and wanted to celebrate one year of joyous marriage with a photoshoot.
We went back and forth until we found the PERFECT location for them! They love the lake and the outdoors, and when I told them about this hidden gem in Okmulgee, that’s just an hour away, it ended up being exactly what they were looking for! They started with a more casual outfit for the adventurous vibe, and then transitioned into more elegant attire. We did this so we could catch the luminous golden hour light as the sun was setting.
We ended the session during sunset at the scenic overlook – which may I add does not even require hiking to get to! Okmulgee Lake has a scenic overlook that opens up to the lake so you can watch the sunset. It’s stunning, and I was so proud of Garrett and Kiley because their session lasted almost two hours just so we could wait for the PERFECT light! They were champs! And it was so worth it!
