What an amazing summer it has been here in Tulsa! I have had the pleasure of documenting weddings, taking engagement photos for incredibly sweet couples, and even met some 2020 brides! Crazy…and look at this beautiful, sunset, salt flats engagement session that took place this summer.
I joyfully write this post because I am sharing Alyssa and Christophers salt flat engagement session photos today! These two were full of excitement and adventure from the moment we met over coffee for the very first time. Even though I am a Tulsa wedding photographer, I LOVE traveling with my couples. Even if it just means a small road trip to the middle of Oklahoma for some epic views (like the Great Salt Plains in Jet, OK)!
Beautiful engagement sessions like theirs remind me why photography is so special and why being a wedding photographer is even more special. Engagement photos are usually the first professional photos a couple will have taken together, so take the extra time to make them amazing! Choose a location that you’ve been dreaming of going to, put on a beautiful gown, and get dressed up. Then make the whole day one to remember by creating a whole date night around it. Their salt plains engagement session checked off all the boxes.
Alyssa and Christopher had the super cute idea of doing a picnic engagement session. We threw the idea around of going to a vineyard (which would have been equally beautiful), but they decided to take a more unique approach and have a picnic at the SALT PLAINS! Like WHAAAT! It was stunning. I think Alyssa and Christopher would agree that the almost three hour drive was worth it.
They popped a bottle of champagne and giggled as they fed each other strawberries. Actors make that look easy…but when us normal folk do it we usually end up being a little silly. The giggles are worth it though 😉 To top it all off, the night ended with an Oklahoma sunset that did not disappoint. So who wants to do a salt flats engagement session next?!
